Emergencies

Always call 999 first.

After calling 999, call the Professional Team on 0161 928 2605, option 1.

Alternatively, call the club house on 0161 928 2605.

There is a defibrillator in the Professional Shop, behind the bar in the Clubhouse and in the Padel Office.

There is a list of First Aiders displayed on the noticeboard outside the office.

Lightning

A player may stop play if they reasonably believe there is a danger from lightning.

If the Club decide there is a risk of lightning, play must be discontinued in accordance with Rule 5.7b. In this case, cessation of play will be indicated by one prolonged sounding of the siren and this means you must stop play immediately.

Course information

Please note the following

  • The course local rules – These are on the back of the scorecard and are accessible via the “Course Ratings and Information” QR codes on the front of the scorecard, on the wall at the Caddy Store (on the walkway through to the Professional Shop) and on the route to the first tee.
  • Fairway distance markers – These are at 200 yards, 150 yards and 100 yards and show distances to the front, middle and back of the green
  • Pin – These are  indicated by the colour of the pin flag i.e.
      • Red flag = pin at front
      • Yellow flag = pin in middle
      • Blue flag = pin at rear
  • Blind shots / safety bells – When stood on the 2nd, 4th and 16th tees, it is not possible to see the green or the game in front of you. Please wait for the players in front to ring the bell after they have played their second shots. Likewise, when you have played your second shots on these holes, please ring the bell for the game behind.
  • Bunkers – Please rake all bunkers and leave all rakes in the centre of the bunker.
  • Greens –  Please repair all pitch marks and divots
  • Fairways –  Please repair all divots
  • Surrounds of greens –  Players must keep trolleys and buggies away from the fringes of the greens and greenside bunkers
  • 4th hole –
      • If any player loses their ball through or over the trees to the right-hand side of the 4th hole they must, on completion of the hole, report the incident in the Pro-Shop.
      • It is critically important that this is done on every occasion
      • You must only play off the designated tees of the day
  • Pace of Play – Please keep up with the group in front. If you fall behind the  game in front, please let a faster group through.
  • Public footpaths – There are several public foot paths running through the course with many walkers and dogs, notably on 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th. Please be patient with walkers. They will usually wait for you to hit your shot. Do not hit through them.
  • Relief from paths – The rules for relief are exactly as defined in rule 16 of the rules of golf. In summary, many paths around the course are natural paths from which, under rule 16,  there is no free relief. Free relief can only be taken from artificial / man made surfaces that are classed as “Abnormal Course Conditions” under rule 16. Paths that are natural with no artificial surface are not considered as “Abnormal Course Conditions” and, therefore, there is no free relief.
